Quince Turkish Towels vs Competitors: Why They’re Cheaper

TL;DR. Quince waffle-terry bath towels are $49.90 for a set of two. 100% long-staple Turkish cotton, 550 GSM, waffle on one side and terry on the other, 365-day returns. We already wrote the ownership review. This page is the vs-price page. Boll & Branch costs more for the mill story. Onsen is the waffle we already tested when stink was the problem. Buy Quince for the $50 dual-texture set. Buy Onsen if you want that specific waffle. Read the Quince towel review first.

Read the review first

The full towel test is Quince Turkish Towels Review. Set of two waffle-terry bath towels. $49.90. 550 GSM. Dual texture. That page is the product. This page is why we would not pay $100 for the same cotton with a different hangtag.

Same rule as how we test. We are not going to invent a 5-year lab test or a star rating we did not measure in this house.

What the extra money buys

Turkish cotton is not a secret. Long-staple fiber. Absorbent. Gets softer after a few washes. Quince, Boll & Branch, and a pile of “luxury” brands all sell a version. The Quince review already covers the brand model: skip the wholesale markup.

Boll & Branch at about $100 a set is the comparison people search. You are paying for the store and the story. You are not getting a different species of cotton. If prestige is the point, pay it. If drying off is the point, $49.90 is the point.

Onsen is a different comparison. We reviewed it as the waffle that does not stink. Light, quick-dry, not a plush hotel towel. Quince waffle-terry is dual-sided and cheaper. If odor on a hanging waffle is your actual complaint, start with Onsen. If price is the complaint, start with Quince and the ownership review.

Waffle and terry

One side waffle, one side terry. Waffle dries faster. Terry grabs water. That is the design, and it is the useful part of this SKU. A single-texture luxury towel does not automatically outperform that.

Care is boring: wash cool, skip the zipper bag, pull them out. Same as every decent towel. High heat is how you wreck loops.

Who this is for

  • You want towels, not a furniture catalog.
  • You will use a 365-day return if the hand-feel is wrong.
  • You already bought Quince sheets or pants and you want the bathroom to match the price logic.

Who should skip these

  • You want a specific West Elm or Parachute colorway for a whole-house look.
  • You already own the Quince set and need care notes. Use the review.

Are they as good as Boll & Branch?

For drying a body, yes enough. For a logo on the hem, no. That is the whole page.

What about Onsen?

Different job. Onsen is the waffle we bought to kill towel smell. Quince is the $50 Turkish dual-texture set. Read both reviews. Do not treat them as one towel.

Do they get softer?

Turkish cotton does after a few washes. Ours did. Details live on the towel review.

Verdict

Buy the Quince waffle-terry set if you want Turkish cotton without a $100 hangtag. Read the full review before you buy a pile of SKUs. Do not mix this page up with linen sheets.

Do you hate when you get out of the shower and use your towel and it stinks? Me, too. It's one of my biggest pet peeves. After using this towel for 4+ years, it's NEVER, EVER stank!
