We love performance dress shirts at We Tried It. We actually saw someone purchase a Jetsetter Dress Shirt from one of our links, and we had to try it out for ourselves to give you our honest Bonobos Jetsetter Review.
The long and short of it? It’s an OK brand, but there are better options available for about the same price – and even cheaper. Don’t buy the Jetsetter Bonobos line before reading this ultimate guide.
Slightly more stylish than other performance suits, but lacks many of the other features you'll find others. The simple fact the suits aren't machine washable is a giant red flag.
Jetsetter Line from Bonobos: what’s the big idea?
The Jetsetter line of clothes from Bonobos claims to be the perfect combination of comfort and style. From dress shirts to blazers, each piece is crafted with premium stretch fabric that provides a luxe feel and resists pilling over time.
The Jetsetter line is geared to be a more technical and comfortable line, over other Bobobos styles. This means products with more stretch, more breathability, and easier care.
Jetsetter Suits
It all started with a suit.
The Bonobos Jetsetter Stretch Wool Suit is a unique combination of style and comfort. This suit is tailored to look great, with just a hint of stretch for extra comfort. Whether you’re attending a formal event or want to look sharp, this suit will keep you looking your best all day long.
The fabric is 97% wool and 3% stretch, making it suitable for any season. It’s also fairly easy to care for.
But as you’ll read in a moment, it’s not all perfect for the Jetsetter Suits. But more on that in just a second.
The Dress Shirts
The dress shirts come in various colors and patterns so you can find the perfect look for any occasion.
Made with “superior” materials are supposed to make “jetsetting” (who even says that?!?) easier.
But in our Jetsetter Review, we found the shirt to be just OK. Nothing super special, but better than the average dress shirt.
Who… or what is Bonobos?
Bonobos is an upscale, menswear brand committed to offering stylish, high-quality clothing for modern men. From suits and trousers to denim, shirts, shorts and accessories, Bonobos has your style needs covered. The online-only retailer was founded in 2007 by two Stanford Business School students – Andy Dunn and Brian Spaly – with a mission of redefining the way men shop for clothing.
In 2012, Bonobos took the next step in their mission with the launch of ‘Guideshops’ – physical retail locations throughout the US that are tailored to provide personalized attention and expert advice during the shopping experience. The Guideshop model allows customers to try on clothing items before purchasing them online, ensuring they always get the right fit.
In June 2017, Walmart acquired Bonobos for $310 million in a move that allowed one of the leading apparel brands to grow its customer base while also giving Walmart access to a younger demographic. Since then, both companies have worked together to leverage each other’s strengths and create innovative products for shoppers across all channels.
Of course, they have been complaints of quality after the Walmart acquisition, but we found no major issues with the Bonobos Jetsetter shirt in our review.
For this review, we’ll focus on the Bonobos Dress Shirt. Be sure to read all about the other Performance Dress Shirts we’ve reviewed.
Features of the Bonobos Jetsetter Dress Shirt
The fabric itself is 76% cotton, 21% nylon, and 3% elastane – a combination that ensures a comfortable fit without sacrificing durability.
In short, the shirt is semi-stretchy, but not in the same realm as other shirts like Mizzen + Main and Bluffworks.
It’s also not as wrinkle-resistant as those two shirts, and not as comfortable. But if you’re looking for a fancier dress shirt that fits REALLY well, then, the Bonobos Jetsetter is a decent option.
This is better than your standard dress shirt (and many other dress shirts, like a classic oxford shirt), but it’s not a magical fabric that will keep you wrinkle-free all day.
However, if you want something better than average, then we recommend Mizzen + Main or Bluffworks dress shirts instead. Not only are they wrinkle-resistant and look just as good, but they’re also less expensive than the Bonobos Jetsetter Dress Shirt. So why settle for just OK when you can get something even more special?
Who the Jetsetter Dress Shirt is designed for
The Jetsetter Dress shirt is designed for people that need a more form-fitting shirt (and that’s not me, honestly).
The only thing the Jetsetter Shirt from Bonobos has over others is that it does fit a bit more snugly than other shirts. That’s good if you are 25 and looking to show off the “guns,” but as an almost-40-year-old with 2 kids, that’s not in my checklist for required dress shirt features.
It’s worth noting that this shirt is just slightly more formal looking than other dress shirts we’ve tried.
However, if you are frustrated that other performance dress shirts are not fitting you quite right, then the Jetsetter Shirt from Bonobos might be just what you are looking for.
You can also take a look at State + Liberty Dress Shirts. This brand is all about the “V” shape dress shirts and is designed for the opposite of “dad bods.”
Bonobos definitely set their sights on designing a more tailored fit for their Jetsetter Dress Shirt, and if that’s what you want then the Bonobos Jetsetter Dress Shirt may be the shirt for you. But if you’re looking for something more wrinkle-resistant, timelessly classic or less expensive, then Mizzen + Main or Bluffworks are better options.
Bonobos Jetsetter Review: What we didn’t like
If you want the highest in performance suits or performance dress shirts, then skip Bonobos Jetsetter Clothes.
Why we didn’t like the Bonobos Jetsetter Suits
In our Jetsetter review, we were stumped by a simple fact: the only way to clean is by dry clean only. There’s nothing “jetsetter” about that. If I’m buying a dress suit, that isn’t for the academy awards, then you have several options that are more comfortable and machine washable.
The fact that the Jetsetter Suit is only suitable for dry cleaning makes it a non-starter for wearing this suit – or even trying it on. I hate having to worry about how I will clean a suit.
Oh yeah, they are wrinkle-resistant, too.
Why we didn’t like the Bonobos Dress Shirts
This dress shirt is simply not designed for the person that wants the BEST shirt for traveling.
I know that’s broad, but, again, personally, I need a shirt that is wrinkle-resistant and comfortable. The Jetsetter Shirt from Bonobos is semi-comfortable and semi-wrinkle-resistant.
That doesn’t make this a great pick for me, since I travel a lot. I prefer the wrinkle-resistant, great-looking dress shirts from Bluffworks and Mizzen + Main over this one.
However, I do think the design and overall look of the Bonobos is slightly better than the others that I’ve mentioned.
Pros and Cons of the Jetsetter Line
The Jetsetter Dress Shirt is a popular choice among fashion-forward shoppers seeking stylish yet practical attire. It features a semi-fitted silhouette, classic collar and stylish pocket flaps – making it the perfect option for office or evening dressing. Additionally, the shirt boasts a semi-impressive, semi-wrinkle-resistant fabric.
While this dress shirt offers plenty of functionality, some disadvantages exist. Not only is the shirt not super wrinkle-resistant, but it’s also more expensive than other dress shirts in its class.
At $128, the Bonobos Jetsetter Dress Shirt is about the same price as similar offerings from Mizzen + Main. However, you can get the awesome Bluffworks Lenox (read our Bluffworks Lenox Review) for only $98.
Jetsetter Dress Shirt Alternatives: What dress shirt we prefer
Bonobos has a bit of a cult-like following. We get it.
However, at the end of the day, we can’t deny that Bluffworks and Mizzen + Main dress shirts are more wrinkle-resistant, look just as good, if not better than Bonobos Jetsetter Dress Shirt – and they’re often less expensive. The fabric is also more breathable than Bonobos Jetsetter Dress Shirts, allowing for improved comfort in warmer climates.
Our verdict? If you’re looking for a quality dress shirt that looks great and won’t break the bank – Bluffworks and Mizzen + Main are your best bet. With their superior wrinkle-resistance and breathability, it’s hard to ignore what these two companies have to offer. The decision is yours – but we think you won’t be disappointed with either brand. We hope this has helped clear up any confusion between the different dress shirt options available on the market today.
Jetsetter Suit Alternatives: What performance suit we recommend
We also have some great performance suits we’ve had the chance to review, that we prefer over the Jetsetter Suit.
All the suits in our best performance suit guide are machine washable and super-wrinkle resistant. Our pick is the Ministry of Supply Kinetic Suit (read our Ministry of Supply Suit Review)
The Overall Value
At $128 retail for one of these shirts, it’s obvious they are very proud of it. Occasionally, you can find this product on sale here. However, for $128, we would prefer many other options.
Bottom line: The Bonobos Jetsetter Dress Shirt is just fine – but better options are available that will ensure you stay looking your best! Make sure to check out Mizzen + Main and Bluffworks for an even better experience.
Jetsetter Review: The final verdict
Slightly more stylish than other performance suits, but lacks many of the other features you'll find others. The simple fact the suits aren't machine washable is a giant red flag.
At the end of the day, the Bonobos Jetsetter Dress Shirt is not a bad pick. It offers a semi-fitted silhouette and classic collar pocket flaps, making it a good option for office or evening dressing. However, its semi-wrinkle-resistant fabric and more expensive price tag means there are better options on the market, such as Mizzen + Main and Bluffworks.
Their superior wrinkle resistance and breathability make them great alternatives if you want to travel in style without breaking your budget. So, if you’re looking for a quality dress shirt for any occasion – these two brands are worth considering over the Bonobos Jetsetter!

FAQs
Is Bonobos a good brand?
Bonobos has a cult-like following. We found their clothes to be slightly higher quality, but lacking some of the other features available from other men’s brands. Save some money (both on the product and the dry cleaning bills).
Personally, we prefer similar clothes from Bluffworks (Read our Bluffworks Review), Ministry of Supply (read our full Ministry of Supply Review) and Mizzen + Main (read all about it in our Mizzen and Main Review).
The price point for these brands is about the same and we like the quality and features a lot more.
Are Bonobos suits any good?
They are just OK. We don’t love them. There are many other options available for about the same price as Bonobos.
How fast can you get a suit from bonobos?
You can get a suit shipped from Bonobos to arrive within 2 – 5 days of your order being confirmed. Bonobos offers free ground shipping on all orders within the U.S., and they deliver via FedEx or USPS. Depending on where you live in the U.S., you may even receive your package within a day or two!
