Haoqi Rhino Review: We had the chance to give Haoqi eBikes a spin with their brand new Rhino โ an awesome, motorcycle-style eBike. What did we think? Keep reading our Haoqi Rhino Review to find out more!
If looks could kill, this bike would be a weapon of mass destruction. Fun to ride, looks great, but not for everyone.
HAOQI Rhino Review: Meet the Rhino
This electric bike most unique feature is simply how it looks. From the bold, black and tan color scheme to the sleek lines and curves of its frame, it looks like a motorcycle – not an eBike.
The Haoqi Rhino electric bicycle is a powerful and stylish bike that stands out from other ebikes on the market. It features a Bafang motor and unique design, allowing riders to travel up to 55-80 miles per range. The bike’s battery is a 48V 26.1Ah lithium battery, making it one of the longest lasting batteries on the market. With its 1000W power output, riders can easily climb hills and tackle off-road terrain with ease.
We’re not new to HAOQI, either. Check out our HAOQI Antelope Review.

What we love about the HAOQI Rhino
There’s a ton to love about the Rhino, but let’s start with what we love most: the looks.
The looks
The HAOQI Rhino Electric Motorbike has a vintage motorcycle aesthetic that is sure to turn heads.
While riding this bike, other cyclists will likely notice it because of its awesome appearance – from the fat tires to the contrasting saddle.
On the trails, I received many looks from other riders because of how striking the bike looks. Despite its size, they designed it in a way that doesn’t appear bulky.
The Battery Design
The battery is in the area of a motorcycle that would typically be storage or gas, but it’s a unique battery design that will be sure to get some looks, too.
The Storage Compartment
HAOQI calls this a “grocery holder,” but it’d be hard to store a bunch of groceries here. I call it more of a “Getting the mail holder,” which is exactly how I used it the first time.
The funny thing is, 1 box I got what about 1 inch too wide for the compartment. It wasn’t that big of a deal, I just held it with one hand and used the other hand on the throttle and handlebars.
The contrasting saddle
We love the color of brown HAOQI picked for the saddle/seat. It’s a super rich color that really stands out and makes the bike look amazing.
Everyone that sees the saddle in the garage has to touch it and says something like, “Ohhh…. this is NICE!”
Hydraulic Brakes
We’re spoiled. We get it. After testing so many electric bikes with Mechanical Disc Brakes, we shocked by how much of a difference Hydraulic Disc brakes are. The brakes that come with the Rhino are top notch and you can stop on a dime.
Pair that with the front shock and fat tires and you’ve got an awesome riding experience – even in crappy weather conditions or uneven terrain.
I tried this e-bike out in some wet and muddy conditions, without any issues at all. The full fenders also helped!
Upgradeable to a Class 3 eBike
A Class 3 eBike is designed to travel at a top speed of up to 28 mph. While the Rhino isn’t a class 3 eBike out of the box, it’s upgradeable by following the instructions to reach up to 28 MPH with just throttle.
28 MPH is fast on an electric bike, so just be careful.
The Range
The Range, which HAOQI lists as 65 – 90 miles, is huge! The unique battery design allows there to be more cells than a traditional bike battery. The 48v 26.1ah battery is simply a beast.
Just ensure it’s attached appropriately, especially if you are eager to test out your new e-bike.
Front Light
Another stunning part of the bike is the giant front light (it also has a rear light, situated right below the seat). It’s bright and big!
Simple LCD Display
Although this LCD Display may resemble many others we’ve seen, it has a unique feature that sets it apart – the temperature display. It may seem like a small feature, but it was a cool addition and surprisingly accurate once I took my bike out of the garage.
What we didn’t love about the HAOQI Rhino
There’s not much to not love about the Rhino. But there are a couple of small things we didn’t care for.
No Adjustable Saddle
While the saddle is beautiful, the number 1 sticking point on this eBike, for most people, will be the saddle that is not adjustable.
This means you won’t be able to ride the bike at a perfect riding stance, but you won’t be peddling much, anyway. At least, I didn’t peddle that much when riding this bike. Because the frame is more meant to be a motorcycle-type frame, it wasn’t designed for a ton of peddling.
If you are looking for a bike where you need to do a lot of pedaling, then maybe just skip this one. The riding experience isn’t terrible by any stretch of the imagination, but it is more like cruising on an off-road motorbike than a fat tire eBike.
Touchy Pedal Assist
This eBike has a very touchy pedal assist. It’s a cadence-triggered motor, meaning it uses magnets, placed around the crank shaft to detect when the bike is being pedaled. Just a little bit of a push can set the bike into orbit if you aren’t careful.
Just like all other electric bikes, start at a lower pedal assist level and work your way up.
Lack of accessories
Of course, you can always pick up items from our list of best eBike accessories, but there aren’t a ton of accessories available directly from HAOQI. Not a huge deal, but something to note.
No Rear Rack
While the design is great (and can accommodate a rider weight of up to 400 lbs), you miss the ability to put in a rear rack.
LCD Display
While there wasn’t anything wrong with the LCD Display, there wasn’t anything amazing about it – besides the outside temperature. It shows the standard things (like if the lights are on or the overall mileage or if it has a full change), but nothing super fancy – like the overall range, etc.
Who is the HAOQI Rhino for?
The Rhino is best for riders who want an electric motorcycle experience and a great looking eBike that will turn heads.
It’s designed with a sturdy frame, suspension and motor that can handle up to 400 lbs of weight, plus the storage compartment makes it great for getting groceries or running errands around town.
You can unlock the motor (and battery) to reach 28 mph if you’re feeling adventurous. So if you’re looking for an electric motorcycle experience but don’t want the hassle of gas and registration (or even pedaling), the Haoqi Rhino should be at the top of your list.
It’s not the most practical or economical, but it is a lot of fun. It’s the Harley of eBikes.
Who is the Rhino is NOT for?
If you are looking for more traditional electric bikes, pass on the Rhino.
This e-bike is intentionally different from traditional ones, as it does not offer the option to adjust the seat for the perfect pedaling position. Therefore, if you are particular about your riding stance, this e-bike may not be the best fit for you.
It’s not a deal killer for me, but it could be for others.
HAOQI puts the standover height at 28 inches, which makes it ideal for riders 5’5″ – 6’8″. That seems like a large range, but it is probably so large because you can’t adjust the saddle.
Let’s talk about the price
This eBike retails for $2,399, but is on sale right now for $1,899.
It comes with free accessories right now (the full fenders and groceries holder). HAOQI offers 15-day returns and a 2-year warranty. All of this, plus free shipping.
Overall, I think this is a pretty good value for the money, as far as electric bicycles go. As I’ve mentioned before in other eBike Reviews, there is no such thing as the perfect electric bike. However, there can be the perfect electric bike (or even a perfect fat tire electric bike) for you.
It all depends on what you are looking to get from your bikes.
HAOQI Rhino Review: Final Thoughts on this eBike
To sum up, the HAOQI Rhino eBike is an amazing option for those who are looking for a bike that looks good, is fun to ride, and doesn’t require too much of your energy.
If looks could kill, this bike would be a weapon of mass destruction. Fun to ride, looks great, but not for everyone.
The style of this electric bike will definitely turn some eyes and with its convenience, it really stands out from the rest. It’s an ideal choice for those who want to get a taste of electric motorcycles without the hassle.
The lack of accessories, no rear rack and lack of seat adjustments are drawbacks, but not necessarily deal breakers – especially if you don’t mind spending a bit extra on needed items. But overall, if you’re looking for a unique eBike experience, the Haoqi Rhino is a great choice.
Finally, at $1,899 (on sale!), it’s definitely worth taking a look at and making sure you are getting the most bang for your buck. Happy riding!
