Aeroccino4 Review – worth it?

I think one of the best things I have done financially is figure out how to make a good latte at home.  I used to be an everyday Starbucks frequenter and it was a very expensive habit! My order – venti latte costs $6.51 locally (at least currently haha)! Now I literally prefer my homemade coffee to the coffee shop, which is a fantastic way to save money!

The main way I have fallen in love with homemade coffee is by creating the perfect steamed, fluffy milk to complete my latte. I use this frothy milk with a Nespresso Vertuo coffee pod, a bit of whipped cream and voila- latte!

It is much cheaper than my trip to Starbucks.

We recently replaced our Nespresso Barista Recipe Maker with the Nespresso Aeroccino4.  I’ll explain why we made this decision and the pros and cons of the Nespresso Aeroccino 4.

Pros of the Nespresso Aeroccino4:

  • The Nespresso Aeroccino4 is a very easy milk frother to use.  It makes nice frothy milk by just the push of the button!
  • The Nespresso Aeroccino4 allows you to make warm or cold frothed milk. This allows you to make cold foam if you prefer iced coffee.
  • This machine is quiet, quick and very uncomplicated!
  • It is very easy to clean- I throw all the components in the dishwasher!

Cons of the Nespresso Aeroccino4:

  • It took a little practice to get the best frothy milk combination.
  • Sometimes if I don’t get the right combination of milk and creamer it is too frothy and won’t come out of the container.
  • There are only a couple of options for use- cold, cafe au lait, cappuccino and latte.

Let’s dive into more details about the newest Aeroccino.

What is the Nespresso Aeroccino4?

Meet the Nespresso Aeroccino 4, your new best friend in the kitchen if you’re a fan of frothy beverages. This nifty gadget is a milk frother that’s not picky about its dairy—it’s happy to froth cow’s milk or any milk substitute you throw its way. But what really sets it apart is its ease of use.

Seriously, it’s as simple as plug-and-play. Just plug this bad boy in, pour your milk into the canister, and hit either the warm or cold frother button. Voila! You’re on your way to froth-town; no barista training required.

Pros of the Nespresso Aeroccino4:

Aeroccino4 Review: Just look at the beautiful froth.

So you’re already in the market for a milk frother and you’re eyeing the Nespresso Aeroccino 4. Good choice! Let’s dive into why this gadget might just be the MVP of your kitchen counter. First off, it’s as user-friendly as a milk frother can get. One push of a button, and you’re in froth heaven. No complicated settings or manuals to decipher.

But the Aeroccino 4 isn’t a one-trick pony. Whether you’re a hot latte aficionado or an iced coffee enthusiast, this machine has your back. It offers the option to make either warm or cold frothed milk, giving you the freedom to craft your perfect cup.

Performance-wise, this machine is like the silent assassin of the frothing world. It’s quick, it’s quiet, and it’s straightforward. No fuss, no muss, just frothy goodness in record time.

And when it comes to cleaning, this machine is as low-maintenance as they come. All its components are dishwasher-safe, so you can enjoy your frothy concoction without dreading the cleanup. Now that’s what we call a win-win!

Cons: What We Don’t Love About the Aeroccino 4

Now, we’re all about giving credit where credit is due, but let’s talk about some of the Aeroccino 4’s quirks that had us scratching our heads. First up, mastering the art of the perfect froth took a bit of trial and error. It’s not exactly a “get it right the first time” kind of machine.

Then there’s the issue of the froth itself. If you don’t nail the right milk-to-creamer ratio, you might end up with a froth so thick it practically barricades itself inside the container. Trust us, coaxing it out isn’t as fun as it sounds.

Lastly, while the machine does offer some variety with cold, café au lait, cappuccino, and latte options, that’s pretty much where the adventure ends. If you’re someone who likes to experiment with different types of frothy beverages, the limited options might feel a bit restrictive. So, while the Aeroccino 4 has a lot going for it, it’s not without its limitations.

Nespresso Barista vs. Nespresso Aeroccino 4 Review

When it comes to Nespresso’s milk frothing gadgets, you’ve got two main contenders: the Aeroccino 4 and the Barista Recipe Maker (read our full Nespresso Barista Review). So, how do you choose between the two? Let’s break it down.

A must-have for perfect milk
Nespresso Barista

Seriously, we've tried everything to make the perfect frothed milk (that didn't require a PhD or hours or clean-up). This makes the perfect milk every single time.

The main differences:

  • The first difference is the price.  The Nespresso Aeroccino4 retails for $119 and the Nespresso Barista Recipe Maker is $169.
  • The Nespresso Barista makes 13 different recipes and the Nespresso Aeroccino4 makes 4 recipes (hence why the Aeroccino 4 is called the Aeroccino4).

Other differences between the Aeroccino 4 and Nespresso Barista

Of course, there’s the price tag. The Aeroccino 4 will set you back $119, while the Barista Recipe Maker is a bit pricier at $169.

Now, let’s talk variety. If you’re the host with the most and love impressing your guests with a range of coffee options, the Barista Recipe Maker is your go-to. It boasts 13 different recipes, so you can play barista to your heart’s content. On the flip side, if you’re more of a “me, myself, and my coffee” kind of person, the Aeroccino 4 might be all you need. It offers four recipe options, which could be just right if you’re not looking to go on a coffee-making spree.

Quality of foam, you ask? The Barista Recipe Maker takes the cake here. It mixes the milk better and the foam slides out of the jug like it’s on a slip ‘n slide. The Aeroccino 4, while decent, doesn’t quite match up in this department.

The eternal grave it seems the Barista is always in.

But here’s the kicker: reliability. The Aeroccino 4 is like that dependable friend who’s always there when you call. It uses a wire whisk to whip up your milk and rarely gives you any trouble. The Barista Recipe Maker, on the other hand, uses a magnetic component that can sometimes lose its mojo, making it a bit hit-or-miss. So if you’re relying on this machine for your daily caffeine fix, that’s something to consider.

So there you have it, folks. Whether you go for the Aeroccino 4 or the Barista Recipe Maker depends on what you’re looking for: variety, foam quality, reliability, or cost. Choose wisely!

My Favorite Latte Recipe with the Nespresso Aeroccino4:

Ready to whip up a latte that’ll make even your local barista jealous? Here’s how to do it with the Nespresso Aeroccino 4:

  1. Start with the Creamer: Fill the Aeroccino 4 with Starbucks caramel macchiato creamer until it covers the wire whisk component inside the frother.
  2. Add the Milk: Next, pour Fairlife non-fat milk into the frother, filling it up to the top of the ball on the wire whisk component.
  3. Froth Away: Turn on the Aeroccino 4 and let it do its frothing magic.
  4. Mug First: Once the frothing is done, pour the frothed milk and creamer mixture into a large mug.
  5. Espresso Time: Brew a 7.77 oz shot of Nespresso Vertuo espresso and pour it into the mug with the frothed milk.
  6. The “Cherry” on Top: Finish it off by adding a dollop of whipped cream on top.

And there you have it—a latte so good, you’ll wonder why you ever paid for one at a coffee shop!

Nespresso Aeroccino4 Review: The Final Verdict

Overall, I am happy with the Nespresso Aeroccino4 that we have used to replace our Nespresso Barista.  I am happy that it is more reliable and a little less complicated to use.

Sure, the Barista might have a slight edge when it comes to the quality of froth, but what’s the point if it’s not reliable? The Aeroccino 4 delivers consistent results, and let’s be honest, consistency is king when you’re craving that morning latte.

The Aeroccino 4 is also refreshingly straightforward to use. No need to fiddle with complicated settings or deal with finicky components. And after a bit of experimenting, we’ve managed to get froth that’s pretty darn close to what the Barista churned out.

We Tried It - Approved Seal

But perhaps the cherry on top is the price. At $119, the Aeroccino 4 is easier on the wallet, making it a great choice for those who want quality without breaking the bank.

So there you have it. The Nespresso Aeroccino 4 gets the “We Tried It” stamp of approval. It’s reliable, it’s easy to use, and it won’t have you digging deep into your pockets. What more could you ask for?
