Setup of the VanGogh360
The VanGogh360 HVAC Scent Diffuser is a powerful and efficient scenting machine that combines the convenience of a stand-alone unit with the power of HVAC scenting. Setting up the physical device is straightforward.
The atomizer and built-in fan allow for even coverage of large open spaces, preserving the oil-based aromas. To get started, you must plug in the device and fill it with oil.
Then, if you are going to pipe the scent into your HVAC system, you need to determine where you will place the VanGogh360, so that it can pipe into the Air Supply (not the return) and plug it in. For me, this required finding an extension cord. Then attach the HVAC tubing to the VanGogh360 and trim any excess clear tubing so that the HVAC tube is as short as possible for more efficient scent diffusion.
If you aren’t using the VanGogh360 in your HVAC system, just place it in a place that will provide a lot of coverage for the scent.
App Set Up
The VanGogh360 also comes with an app that allows you to control your scenting experience from anywhere in the world. However, syncing the app with the device can be a bit tricky at times, but it’s not a deal-breaker by any means.
The app just appeared to be a bit buggy, but we eventually figured it out.

When it comes to the VanGogh360, there’s a whole lot to love.
It works!
First and foremost, this cutting-edge scent diffuser truly delivers on its promise of spreading delightful fragrances throughout your home effortlessly. Its integration with your HVAC system ensures that every corner of your living space is filled with captivating aromas, creating an immersive sensory experience like never before. We were genuinely impressed by how well the VanGogh360 works in filling even large areas with consistent, luxurious scents.
While the VanGogh360 is rated to cover 1,800 square feet, our main floor HVAC also covers our basement – about 3,000 square feet. It did not have a problem spreading the scents across the larger square footage at all.
Thanks to the cold air diffusion technology, this scent machine makes your home smell like your favorite luxury hotel – and that’s because it’s the same scent you are getting from the air duct that you are getting in many different luxury hotels and spas.
Large and multiple areas can be covered with this 1 device. Yes, it’s true. While it’s not the most mobile device, it is an ideal solution if you are obsessed with filling your home with a great smell.
Set-it-and-forget it
Another aspect we absolutely adore about the VanGogh360 is its “set it and forget it” setup. Once you’ve installed the device and configured your preferred settings, the diffuser takes care of the rest. You can schedule your favorite scents to match your daily routine, and the VanGogh360 will automatically disperse the fragrances at the right time and intensity.

VanGogh360: What we did NOT love
While there’s a lot to love about the VanGogh360, we also encountered some aspects that were less than ideal.
You need to like the scents, first
One of the most significant factors that can affect your overall satisfaction with the product is whether or not you enjoy the scents themselves. It took us a bit of trial and error to find fragrances that worked well in our home, as some were too strong, rich, or floral for our taste. However, once we discovered the scents that resonated with us, the VanGogh360 really shined. Keep in mind that it may take some experimentation to find the perfect aroma for your space.
Fan needs to be running
Another aspect that we found somewhat inconvenient was the requirement for the HVAC fan to be running continuously in order for the scent to diffuse properly. In areas like Fort Collins, CO, where time-of-day pricing for energy is practiced, this can pose a challenge.
During peak hours, energy costs are higher, which means you’ll either need to program your diffuser to only operate during off-peak hours when energy prices are lower, or be prepared to run your fan all the time, potentially incurring higher energy expenses.
Need to do some setup
While Aroma’s Mini diffuser doesn’t require any setup at all, these HVAC scenting machines need a little work to get installed.
You can do it, but it’s not just as simple as plugging it in and walking away. To install in your central heating or cooling system, you need to drill a hole in your air supply (not return) and also make sure you have an outlet to plug the device into.
Once again, not a deal killer, but something to consider.
Only 1 scent at a time

How does it compare to other diffusers?
As we’ve mentioned, we’ve reviewed so many different diffusers from Pura (read our Pura Review), Aera (read our Aera Review and Aera Mini Review) and even the Aroma360 Mini Diffuser (read our Aroma360 Mini Diffuser Review).
We’ve also spent way too much money on candles, too.
But where does the VanGogh 360 and other Aroma360 HVAC Diffusers fit in?
The first thing Aroma360 HVAC Diffusers have going for them is the ability to actually spread the scent evenly across large spaces. We have not tested another diffuser that does a better job of spreading the scent than this HVAC Diffuser.
However, there are a couple of things we like about some of the other diffusers, that you should be aware of.
Aroma360 HVAC Diffuser vs. Pura
We love that Pura has the ability to alternate between two scents. While some of the larger (and more expensive) Aroma360 HVAC Diffusers can also do this, the price of the Pura much less.
For comparison, the Pura Smart Diffuser is $44.99 (use our Pura Promo Code to save even more) or you can get the Smart Diffuser and 2 scents for about $70.
The VanGogh360 costs about $999 (retail, find the best deal here), plus diffuser oil.
There are a ton of variables here, but Pura claims to work for about 2 weeks, running 8 hours a day (about 112 hours) with a level 5 intensity (the intensity level ranges from 1 – 10). Each fragrance is about $10 – $15, depending on the brand.
Aroma360 says a 120ml fragrance bottle will last 25-30 days, running 5-6 hours/day. The Aroma360 120ml fragrance bottle is about $60 – $75.
What's better than candles? Something that smells EXACTLY like a candle and is less expensive. We've found the world's best smart diffuser, Pura. Get Pura and enjoy scents you already know and love, like Capri Blue and many, many more.
While it may be more expensive when looking at the differences, consider that it would take to cover the same space with multiple Pura devices. Pura says that it covers about 1,000 square feet, which is probably slightly generous. Even if that’s true, it will take at least 2 Pura diffusers to cover the same area, and I’d even argue that it would take three Pura Diffusers.
It isn’t that much more expensive for the same run time when you compare the Pura and Aroma360 HVAC Diffuser.
